Well guess what? There were heaps of programs to choose from. The closest one I found which almost did what I wanted was called "DOSCab/WinCab" written and maintained by Chris.

I wanted to be able to run a jukebox "MY" way on my MAME cabinet, so decided to program my own for me to use.

I first started looking for an "open source" jukebox program in the usual places, but didn't really find anything that stood out. So I had to build it from scratch. I chose to program in Delphi, a great decision by the way, and with the help of some pre built "FREE" libraries, built the first version of DAM JukeBox. (This was actually my first attempt at programming a complete application - so done by a noob)

Time went on, and I made a stack of changes after getting suggestions from lots of friends.
Eventually enough people told me I should release DAM JukeBox onto the internet for others, and so I built the website DAM JukeBox and posted it for all to download in about June-July 2006.

To this date, there have been over 550 downloads!! (That's almost 70 downloads a month)
Doesn't sound like anything to brag about I know - but until you write your own program and get other people that actually want to use it - you won't understand how proud I am of it...
Yes I know it's free, and everyone want's something for free, but I still get a smile from it.

So without boring you to tears any more, I just wanted to see if there is any demand for getting at the source code for such a program. (Although I would have to clean it up a bit first - being my first attempt at programing, it's very, very mesy code, but hey, it works after all!!) I know I would have loved the chance to start with a good base already done, and basically I don't have the time to add any more features to it, in its current state. (I'm actually thinking a total re-write is in order - maybe in C++ or Python even, making it run on Linux and MAC)

Thanks for reading this far.

Please leave your comments below with your thoughts and I will decide if it's the right thing to do.

Cheers,
DAM Soft
[aka Mic]
